


AcuODBC can also access files that reside on a different computer from the front-end application and process them locally. For example, it can access remote files on a UNIX or Windows NT server. In this case, you can use AcuServer for remote file access services.
AcuServer is available for most UNIX and Windows NT (Intel) machines. It can serve COBOL applications running on UNIX, DOS, and Windows TCP/IP based networks. You must have a TCP/IP networking client installed on the client machine and a licensed copy of AcuServer installed on the server.
