1.2 Product Requirements

In order to interface your COBOL data to a Windows application through AcuODBC, you must have the following:

• Microsoft Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows NT 4.0, or Windows 2000

• ODBC Data Source Administrator Version 3.5 or later. (Part of Windows operating system. This is automatically updated during AcuODBC installation if an earlier version is detected.)

• ODBC Driver Manager Version 2.0 or later. (Provided by most ODBC-enabled applications. This is automatically updated during AcuODBC installation if an earlier version is detected.)

• ACUCOBOL-GT indexed or relative data files. Data files must be created with ACUCOBOL-GT Version 4.0 or later. AcuODBC supports the single-file format of ACUCOBOL-GT's indexed file system, Vision Version 2 and 3, as well as the dual-file format of Acucorp's newest file system, Vision Version 4.

• Data dictionary files created with ACUCOBOL-GT Version 4.0 or later (for Vision file access) or Version 4.1 or later (for relative file access). Data dictionary files are created at compile time with option "-Fx" or "-Fxa", and are discussed in Section 7.2.

• AcuServer^TM networking software if data will reside on a UNIX or Intel-based Windows NT server. A separate Acucorp product.
