ASCII2OCTAL Routine

ASCII2OCTAL converts binary data to its octal format. This routine is the inverse of the OCTAL2ASCII routine.

Usage

 CALL "ASCII2OCTAL"
   USING ASCII-VALUE, OCTAL-VALUE

Parameters

ASCII-VALUE PIC X(2)

Input data area containing the ASCII representation of a unit of data

OCTAL-VALUE PIC X(8)

Output data area to contain the octal value

Note: When you are defining the parameters, use the exact field sizes specified in the calling conventions above, otherwise the runtime may terminate abnormally.
