ACUCOBOL-GT is shipped for NeXT machines in the format required by the NeXT Installer application. You must upgrade to Release 2.0 or later of the NeXT's terminal emulator (Terminal) before you install the ACUCOBOL-GT package.
Log in as root to install ACUCOBOL-GT. After you insert the media into the drive, click on the ACUCOBOL-GT icon in the Workspace File Viewer. Then double-click the Acucobolnnn.pkg ("nnn" is the number of the release) icon to bring up the NeXT Installer application.
After the Installer has finished running, bring up the NeXT's terminal emulator (Terminal) and follow steps 1 through 9 in section A.5.2.
(To select the terminal emulator, double-click the Terminal icon in the application dock along the right edge of the workspace. If the Terminal icon does not appear in the dock, or if you're not certain which icon represents Terminal, double-click the NeXT icon to bring up the File Viewer window. Then select the NextApps directory and double-click the word "Terminal".)
After your installation is complete, follow the special directions listed below.
