The ACUCOBOL-GT runtime makes a number of automatic adjustments depending on the version of the host Windows operating system. The runtime detects when it's executing under Windows 3.1, Windows 95, Windows NT 3.5, or Windows NT 4.0 and makes the following adjustments:
Under Windows 95 and Windows NT 4.0, if the user selects the "Always-on-top" attribute for the Task Bar, the runtime excludes the space that the Task Bar
occupies from the measured screen dimensions.
Under Windows 95 and Windows NT 4.0, pop-up hint boxes for bitmap buttons use
the colors chosen by the user in the Control Panel. Under Windows 3.1 and
Windows NT 3.5, the colors are always black and yellow.
Under Windows 95 and Windows NT 4.0, the 3-D borders drawn around combo boxes
and list boxes are drawn to match the standard look.
Under Windows 95 and Windows NT 4.0, the sizes of some controls are slightly
modified to match the standard look.
Under Windows 95 and Windows NT 4.0, bitmap buttons default to square and unframed. Under Windows 3.1 and Windows NT 3.5, bitmap buttons default to round and framed.
