To define the runtime as a viewer in Internet Explorer

To invoke viewers, Internet Explorer uses the file type associations that users have set up for their Windows configurations. To add a file type association for ACUCOBOL-GT object files, users must do the following:

1. Start Windows Explorer using the Start/Programs menu.

2. From the View menu, select Options (Windows 95) or Folder Options (Windows 98). Windows 2000 and Windows ME users, select "Folder Options" from the Tools menu.

3. Click the File Types tab.

4. Click New Type to open the Add New File Type dialog box.

5. Click inside each field in the box and do the following:

a. In the "Description of type field", type "ACUCOBOL-GT object file".

b. In the "Associated Extension Type" field, type "acu".

c. In the "Content Type (MIME)" field, type "application/vnd.acucobol".

6. Click New to open the New Action dialog box.

7. Click inside each field in the box and do the following:

a. In the "Action" field, type "OPEN".

b. In the "Application used to perform action" field, browse to and select the ACUCOBOL-GT runtime file "wrun32.exe." Click at the end of this field and type "%1" preceded by a space. Include the quotation marks. This indicates the complete path to the COBOL program file. If users want to specify command line options, they may do so by typing the option after the name of the executable.

8. Click OK to accept the new action.

9. Click OK to accept the new file type.
