Set AS_CLIENT_ENCRYPT to "true" ("1", "on") to turn on AcuServer encryption. The default value is "false" ("0", "off"). Note that encryption can have a significant impact on performance. See 6.6 Encryption for complete information about AcuServer encryption and use.
