This variable allows you to start file tracing without opening the debugger. Set this variable to a non-zero value to save information about all file OPENs, READs, and WRITES in the error file. This is equivalent to specifying "tf n" from the debugger (where n is an integer). The default is "0." See Section 1.7.2 of the User's Guide for more information about the File Trace feature.
