A.1 License Files, Sample Programs, ".def" and ".dll" Files

This appendix includes instructions for configuring terminals on each class of machine and operating system supported. In addition, this first section describes several special files that are part of the ACUCOBOL-GT compiler and runtime system. For specific instructions on installing your Acucorp products and license files, see the Getting Started booklet that was shipped with your software.

A license file is required for most Acucorp products; this file is described in section A.1. This section also describes some of the sample programs included with the release materials, and introduces the standard Acucorp definition (".def") and dynamic link library (".dll") files that are also included in the release materials.

Note that the amount of disk space generally needed to install ACUCOBOL-GT (not including the AcuBench) is typically less than 20MB.

Note: Unless otherwise indicated, the references to "Windows" and "Windows NT" in this manual denote all 32-bit versions of the Windows and Windows NT operating systems. Those versions are: Windows 95 and 98, Windows NT 3.5 and 4.0, and Windows 2000. In those instances where it is necessary to make a distinction among the individual versions of those operating systems, we refer to them by their specific version numbers ("Windows 2000", "Windows NT 4.0", etc.).
