3.2.2 Using AcuConnect as a Stand-Alone Runtime

Because AcuConnect includes a version of the ACUCOBOL-GT runtime, it can act as a stand-alone runtime as well as a runtime server. If you do not already have an ACUCOBOL-GT runtime on the server, this can be very useful. It can also be useful for debugging the server component of your AcuConnect applications.

To use AcuConnect as a stand-alone runtime on a UNIX server, type "acuconnect" followed by any runtime options documented in the standard ACUCOBOL-GT User's Guide.

To use AcuConnect as a stand-alone runtime on a Windows NT or Windows 2000 server, type "acuthread.exe" followed by any runtime options documented in the standard ACUCOBOL-GT User's Guide.

In either case, do not include any of the AcuConnect options discussed in Appendix A (e.g., "-start", "-access", etc.).
