Before you create your site, you need to find or create a Web server to host it. Initially you might decide to have an Internet service provider (ISP) host the site. ISPs provide space on their Web server for your site and charge for it based on the type of information that your site will contain and the amount of disk space and network I/O that it requires. The best way to learn about ISPs is to check computer circulars, computer stores, or even your local Yellow Pages. Once you find an ISP that serves your needs, you simply set up an account with them and you're ready to go.
Building your own Web server is advisable if you plan to use your Web site for conducting business on a regular basis. To build your own Web server, you must make a minor investment in hardware and software, and you should prepare to spend hundreds or thousands each month for a dedicated connection to the Internet. You must also be prepared to dedicate time and personnel to the cause.
