7.0 The acuserve Command

The acuserve command is your control and maintenance interface to AcuServer. The acuserve command is used on the server at the command line or with icons under Windows NT (Intel), and initiates the following actions:

* starts and stops the acuserve program and installs and removes acuserve as a Windows NT service

* reports AcuServer system status

* closes stranded files

* creates and maintains the server access file

The acuserve command formats on UNIX servers are:

acuserve
acuserve  -access
acuserve  -info [server] [-n num]
acuserve -kill [server] [-f] [-n num]
acuserve  -start [-c config_file] [-e error_file] [-l] [-t#] [-f] [-n num] [-p port]
acuserve  -unlock [server] [-a] [-c client [-u user] [-p PID]] [-f FID] [-n num]
acuserve  -version

The acuserve command formats on Windows NT (Intel) servers are:

acuserve
acuserve  -access
acuserve  -info [server] [-n num]
acuserve  -install [server] [-n num]
acuserve -kill [server] [-f] [-n num]
acuserve  -remove [server] [-n num]
acuserve  -start [-c config_file] [-e error_file] [-l] [-t#] [-f] [-n num] [-p port]
acuserve  -unlock [server] [-a] [-c client [-u user] [-p PID]] [-f FID] [-n num]
acuserve  -version

The icon equivalents under Windows NT (Intel) are:

ICON                             COMMAND
Acuserve  -access                acuserve -access
Acuserve  -info                  acuserve -info
Install Acuserve Service         acuserve -install
Stop Acuserve Service            acuserve -kill
                                 acuserve -remove
Start Acuserve Service           acuserve -start
Acuserve -unlock                 acuserve -unlock
Acuserve -version                acuserve -version

You can modify the command options for an icon by changing the properties of the icon.

The following section describes each command and its options in detail.
