To use AcuServer:
Each server machine must be networked to UNIX, Windows NT (Intel), Windows 95,
Windows, and DOS clients with TCP/IP. (TCP/IP is not sold or supplied by
Acucobol.)
All servers must run the portmap daemon.
All servers must have a copy of the Acucobol license file for AcuServer.
All UNIX servers must run acushare, Version 4.0 or later (see section 2.12 of the AUCOBOL-GT User's Guide). The latest version of acushare is included on the AcuServer distribution media.
All DOS clients must run PC/TCP Kernel Software, Version 2.3 or later. PC/TCP Kernel Software is available only from FTP Software, Inc.
Windows clients can run any TCP/IP software that uses a WINSOCK compliant
WINSOCK.DLL.
Windows NT (Intel) and Windows 95 clients can run any TCP/IP software that
uses a WINSOCK compliant WSOCK32.DLL.
Client machines must have an Acucobol client-enabled runtime. To verify that
your runtime is client-enabled, type "runcbl -v" and look for the line:
AcuServer client
On SCO UNIX and NCR Tower systems, you will also need their optional NFS software package. This package includes the required portmap daemon executable.
