AcuODBC can also access files that reside on a different computer from the front-end application. For example, it can access files on a UNIX or Windows NT server. In this case AcuODBC takes advantage of AcuServer to access the files on the remote computer.
AcuServer is an add-on module that provides remote file access services to ACUCOBOL-GT applications. AcuServer is available for most UNIX and Windows NT (Intel) machines. It can serve COBOL applications running on UNIX, DOS, 80386 DOS, and Windows TCP/IP based networks.
